Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre Post-Meeting Communications | 16 March 2026 Successful Conclusion of the 1st Meeting of the 3rd-term Advisory Committee 16 March 2026 | Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre The Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre (YTMMAC) successfully held the 1st Meeting of its 3rd-term Advisory Committee on 16 March 2026 (Monday) at the Centre's premises in Jordan, Kowloon. Members gathered to review the Centre's recent achievements and discuss strategic directions for the year ahead. &nbsp; Work Report 2024–2025 During the meeting, a comprehensive report on the Centre's progress over the 2024–2025 periodwaspresented. Key highlights included the successful delivery of a wide range of social capital and integration services, including community volunteer training (serving 401 participants across 12 sessions), translation services (607 instances), cultural exchange exhibitions, employment training workshops, and large-scale annual events. The Centre's Multi-purpose Hall achieved a utilisation rate of 70.1%, while the Multicultural Supply Station reached 81.5%, both meeting or exceeding the targets set in the project proposal. &nbsp; Work Plan 2025–2026 Looking ahead, the Centre outlined an ambitious work plan for 2025–2026, with plans to scale up community cooperation projectsto moresessions, expand cultural orientation tours, and enhance youth career exploration and development programmes. The Centre also plans to strengthen its collaboration with consulates, schools, and community organisations to promote multiculturalism and social inclusion across the district. &nbsp; Free Chinese Language &amp; Putonghua Training Programme During the meeting, the training coordinator from the MAC alsointroduced a new, fully-funded Free Chinese Language &amp; Putonghua Training Programme designed exclusively for consulate staff in Hong Kong. The programme, commencing in May 2026, aims to equip diplomatic professionals with practical Putonghua communication skills and a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture, further strengthening the bonds between the consulate community and the local district. &nbsp; Building and Shop Tour Following the formal proceedings, committee members were escorted on a guided tour of the Centre's facilities and the recently upgraded mini-shops. The tour offered members a firsthand look at the vibrant operational environment and the newly decorated shop frontages. Members engaged actively with the spaces, offering valuable suggestions and constructive feedback on how to further optimise the facilities, enhance the visitor experience, and attract new social enterprise tenants to the remaining vacant units. &nbsp; The Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre remains steadfast in its mission to promote multiculturalism and strengthen community cohesion in the district.
